Loyalty System


All soldiers have a loyalty rating (from 0-10000) based on food, equipment, # of battles, and duration in the army. This is hidden. Newly captured soldiers start at 0. Newly recruited soldiers will start between 1-500, based on the skill of the recruiter and the success of his diplomacy. Loyalty also affects NPC Morale in combat. Great NPCs have a great loyalty effect (up to 1000) on those who fight with them. Soldiers with less than 7500 can be converted when the city they are in is captured. A soldier with more than 7500 loyalty will never convert. A soldier with 10,000 loyalty will always go out in a "blaze of glory" (double damage and health) before they would be captured (they are never flagged as prisoners).
